RAK Airways

RAK Airways will become the fourth national airline of the UAE (United Arab Emirates), when it flies its first commercial flight. H.H. Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, established RAK Airways in February 2006 under an Emiri Decree (an Emiri decree is an executive decision which the Emir makes).

RAK Airways originally planned to launch in early 2007, but this has now been postponed indefinitely. "Before we start flying there is much groundwork still to be done. We don't want to make any statements [regarding the launch date] because we don't want to raise hopes,"" CEO Kishu Teckchandani said in April 2007.
